The Rule
“It ain’t about how hard you hit! It’s about how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward, how much you can take and keep moving forward.”
-Rocky Balboa
The Thing!
Here’s the thing! Tough times, unfairness, inequality, bullying, loss, break-up’s, injustice, cruelty, losing out, discrimination, and a host of other stuff are going to happen to you whether you like it or not. People are going to treat you unfairly and in many cases they don’t even mean to, or intend to, they are just looking after their own interests.
People for the most part are scared, salaried employees, who are living beyond their means, shackled to a job they don’t enjoy, that they cannot leave, and because of this, they can never do the right thing. Many wouldn’t know the right thing if it slapped them in the face, but these exact same people will at some time treat you with disrespect and unfairness. That my friend is life! If anyone told you that this life is fair – they lied.
Life is what you make it and more importantly it’s what you do about it. I love the scene in one of the Rocky movies when his son starts complaining about how tough it is to make it to the world with a father that is embarrassing him.

Rocky reminds us that “it isn’t about how hard you get hit, it’s about how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward, how much you can take and keep moving forward; because that’s how winning is done”. My good friend W Mitchell always reminds me that it’s never what happens, it’s what you do about it.
The Reward!
The How Too!
Trouble Shooting!
But I’m down and out?
Get up, patch yourself up, look ‘em in the eye and move forward. You may be down but you’re never out until you say you’re out.
I don’t think I can ever trust or love again.
You will, you can, you must and you will be let down again. Rather to have loved and lost than to never have loved at all.

Man that’s right on the button, Jesus didn’t get it fair either and he was the son of God so why do we think we are better?
Good motivation

Hi Gavin,
Thank you for this massage, it is just perfect for this time of the year. Our people are hopeless and need to hear that “Toughness is in the soul and in the spirit not in the muscle”
We are going to have a small year end function this afternoon for our staff and I have been wondering what message I can give them that will keep them thinking and encourage them this holiday season, well I dont have to wonder anymore, this is the message of hope !!!
Our company have been through a very tough period the past 12 mths with retrenchments, uncertanty and the pressure that goes with it, If you dont mind I am going to use this message as my speech this afternoon.
Be blessed and have a great holiday period with your family.
